During a Coconino County Board of Supervisors meeting earlier this month, the Coconino County Public Works Department laid out a look at its upcoming capital improvement projects and detailed the recent performance of its revenue sources.
Split into two categories, the combined revenue for the public works department has surpassed $30 million in recent years, as it has steadily increased since the 2020 fiscal year. The transportation fund, which primarily consists of the county’s share of Arizona’s vehicle license tax and the highway user revenue fund (HURF), was expected to land around $18.4 million for the 2026 fiscal year. The other half, funded almost entirely by the Road Maintenance Sales Tax passed by county voters as Proposition 403 in 2014, was projected for $16.04 million in the current fiscal year.
