Letter to the Editor: A remembrance of the corner of Milton and Riordan

Here’s a bit of remembrance for southwest corner of Milton and Riordan. When I first moved to Flagstaff in 1990, Crystal Creek was already established. A couple of doors over was Teriyaki Express, Flagstaff’s only rice bowl at the time, which was anything but an express (oh, how I miss Papa San!). Barbecue Express took over shortly thereafter, and the original operator was a great guy and made a great order of ribs, but the business turned over to someone else who wasn’t nearly as good.

After Barbecue Express came Little Thai Kitchen, Flagstaff’s second Thai restaurant. [Dara Thai was the first, opening at the Western Hills before moving downtown.] They’ve gone up and down in quality, but there has always been a special place in my heart for them.
