There was some uncertainty coming into this year’s Fourth of July Flagstaff Downtown Mile. Run Flagstaff had to monitor air quality amid the ongoing Pocket Fire, which had grown to 25,000 acres as of Saturday morning’s race time.
Thankfully, the skies were clear as the sun rose to shine on another installment of the staple event. Runners from all over came to the city to take on the one-mile, two-lap circuit that surrounded Heritage Square. As usual, the race began on North San Francisco Street, with left turns taken at East Cherry Avenue and North Beaver Street before the final turn at East Aspen leading to the finish.
