Rep. Ralph Norman has officially thrown his hat into the ring for the 2026 South Carolina governor’s race, and let’s just say, the political landscape is about to get a lot more interesting. Known as one of the “most conservative” members of the House, Norman is stepping into a crowded field of Republicans vying for the top spot. With well-known candidates like Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette and Attorney General Alan Wilson already making their moves, there’s no shortage of drama coming our way.
While Norman boasts his conservative credentials, his mixed history with former President Donald Trump could raise some eyebrows. Not seeking Trump’s endorsement, despite the ex-president’s influence in South Carolina, might seem surprising. But hey, with controversies like pulling a loaded gun during a meeting and refusing to wear a mask in Congress, it seems Norman’s candidacy will attract plenty of attention—good and bad. He’s definitely one of those characters who keeps the spotlight shining bright!
As the race heats up, one has to wonder: will Norman’s bold moves and unapologetic conservatism resonate with South Carolinians? Or will his past actions come back to haunt him? With so many contenders in the mix, it’ll be interesting to see how everyone plays out their cards. What do you think? Are you rooting for any particular candidate in this rollercoaster of a race?
