GloRilla is clearly turning life’s lemons into a lucrative lemonade stand. Fresh off her arrest in Georgia, the rapper is now selling T-shirts sporting her mugshot for a cool $40. That’s right—who needs a fancy fashion line when you can say “I got arrested, and all I got was this lousy t-shirt” while also collecting a paycheck? These tees are not just about the controversy, they were featured front and center at her “GloRilla’s Glo Bash” concert in Memphis, making them a hot item amongst fans.
It’s almost as if GloRilla understood that a scandal is just an opportunity in disguise. Facing charges for possessing a controlled substance after police found drugs in her home during a robbery investigation doesn’t seem to have dampened her spirits (or her business savvy). Instead, she’s flipping the narrative into a marketing campaign that’s as potent as her music.
Can you imagine if more celebrities did the same? I mean, what if every time someone got into a bit of trouble, they released a new product? “I just launched my new ‘Jailbird’ perfume!” Seriously, if you were in GloRilla’s shoes, how would you claim your spin on the situation? Would you cash in like she did or lay low and let the scandal blow over? Share your thoughts below!
