A Hulk Hogan biopic featuring the dynamic duo of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon is officially not happening. Their production company, Artists Equity, has decided to pull the plug on the project, and it seems the decision was made long before Hogan’s recent passing. Curious how this gem of a Hollywood pitch crashed down? It certainly takes the wind out of anyone’s sails who was ready for a wild re-enactment of that infamous XXX parody tape.
So, what’s the reason behind this sudden cancellation? That’s the million-dollar question—one that insiders say they’re not sure about either. While it’s clear the movie hasn’t been in development for quite some time, the silence surrounding its exit only adds fuel to the speculation fire. Maybe they couldn’t decide on a writer, or perhaps the subject matter felt a bit too… scandalous? Either way, fans will have to keep dreaming about seeing their beloved wrestling icon’s biopic come to life.
At the end of the day, it sure feels like we missed an opportunity for some juicy drama. Affleck and Damon tackling something as outrageous as Hogan’s life could’ve been a box office hit—or at least a hilarious watch. What do you think? Are you disappointed this biopic never made it into the ring, or did you think it might be best left on the drawing board?
