Construction on the Montalvo Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education Community Center, located at 211 E. First Ave. in Flagstaff, is scheduled to begin the week of April 20, according to the City of Flagstaff and Loven Contracting.
Construction is anticipated to be completed by late 2026. As part of the project, a new mosaic inspired by the design from the former structure will be installed upon completion in an effort to preserve a visual element of the site’s history. The work may result in temporary impacts including noise, dust and minor traffic disruptions in the surrounding area. The city and its contractor will implement measures to minimize these impacts and maintain a safe environment for the community.
