In a twist of post-divorce drama that would make any reality TV show jealous, Jay Cutler is firing back at Kristin Cavallari after she claimed she received nothing from their separation. Cutler, fresh off an episode of his podcast, wasn’t shy about throwing around phrases like “borderline slander” when it comes to Kristin’s financial allegations. He insists she actually raked in a hefty sum, dubbing her claims as irresponsible and completely false. It seems like the couple’s messy split from 2020 is still very much alive and kicking.
Cutler, who chose to keep the actual dollar amount under wraps, did emphasize that the settlement was certainly more than zero dollars and was quite enough for Cavallari to live comfortably. I mean, can you imagine if a judge actually agreed to let one party walk away with nothing? Talk about the ultimate white-knuckle courtroom thriller! He even joked during his podcast that she got “a lot, a lot, a lot of [dollar] bills,” reminding everyone that it’s not all doom and gloom in the world of post-marriage finances.
The ongoing spat raises a question we might all ponder: is it ever okay to publicly air the financial details of a troubled marriage? Divorce can be sensitive, but it seems Jay and Kristin are taking it straight to the court of public opinion. So, how about it? When does sharing become oversharing, and could it be time for both to just let the past be the past?
