The Flagstaff Festival of Science has announced two upcoming opportunities for the community to engage with science in fun and meaningful ways — a citywide scavenger hunt this spring and the theme for its 2026 fall festival.
The festival’s third annual scavenger hunt will take place May 2, inviting teams of up to four to explore Flagstaff through a series of rhyming riddles, interactive challenges and photo prompts. The family-friendly event will feature 20 locations across the city, each offering a unique look at Flagstaff’s scientific resources. Participants can expect event swag, refreshments and a post-hunt celebration with prizes awarded in multiple categories. Early registration is available through April 18 at scifest.org/scavengerhunt.
This year’s Festival of Science keynote speaker is Kirk Dunsavage, a technology and people leader dedicated to advancing innovation through collaboration and empowerment.
