Flagstaff’s City Hall briefly went into lockdown during the city council meeting Tuesday, April 7, after a person fired shots from a handgun in Wheeler Park across the street.
The temporary lockdown began around 7:30 p.m. as the meeting was approaching its end and councilmembers were providing informational updates on recent and upcoming activities. City staff informed the councilmembers and the audience that there had been an incident of some kind and that they would need to remain in the building until police advised it was safe to leave.
