The skies may soon welcome a new reigning champion as Airbus’ A320 series is on track to outpace Boeing’s 737 in delivery totals. This isn’t just a friendly neighborhood rivalry; it’s a full-on dogfight! Boeing’s got the muscle behind it, landing a jaw-dropping $200 billion order with Qatar Airways that includes 160 aircraft. Talk about putting your money where your wings are!
It seems Boeing isn’t just a one-trick pony, either. After overcoming past production snags thanks to the FAA, they’re ramping up 737 MAX production to 42 aircraft per month. Boeing’s CEO, Kelly Ortberg, is riding high on recent improvements, claiming a 30% drop in production defects. If that trend continues, we might see more of their planes soaring through the skies and fewer folks stuck at the gate. Now that’s an upgrade we can all appreciate!
But with only 20 deliveries separating these aviation giants, the competition is tighter than a coach seat on a full flight. The fight for the top spot is heating up, and nothing gets us more excited than watching titans meet head-on in the battle for the skies. Who do you think will end up flying high in the end? Let’s see if Boeing can maintain its altitude or if Airbus will take the lead!
