An audacious attempt at burglary unfolded in West Seattle, leaving a smoke shop with a dented reputation and some seriously damaged doors, thanks to a stolen Kia Sportage. At 4:29 a.m. on Thursday, would-be thieves decided to make a grand entrance by crashing their ride into the shop—because why go in quietly when you can go in loud, right? Unfortunately for them, the plan didn’t unfold as smoothly as they’d hoped, and the suspects made a hasty retreat before the Seattle Police Department could arrive.
Witnesses reported seeing this cinematic crash, but the suspects vanished faster than smoke when the alarm went off. Despite the chaos, the suspects left empty-handed, as the security measures kept them out of the actual merchandise. It’s almost like they forgot that a smashed doorway doesn’t automatically unlock all the goodies inside. Even the stolen Kia has a bit of drama attached, being linked to a prior armed robbery. Seems like this car has led a life of crime all on its own!
Now, while we might chuckle at this failed crime story, it raises the question: what were they thinking? Was this a case of a poorly-planned heist or just a poor choice of vehicles? The police are on the case—could it be that next time, these thieves will learn to keep their day jobs? Or just maybe, they should leave the criminal life to the professionals!
