Bryan Kohberger’s life took a sharp turn recently as he was moved into solitary confinement after being sentenced to four consecutive life sentences for the heartbreaking murders of four University of Idaho students. Talk about life throwing curveballs! Now residing in J Block at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution, he’s under long-term restrictive housing. Essentially, that means he’s got a whole lot of alone time—one hour of outdoor recreation a day and shower access every other day. If he’s not already regretting his life choices, he certainly will after trying to find a good way to pass the time!
His fellow inmates aren’t exactly the kind you’d want to share a dessert with, either. Among them is Chad Daybell, who was sentenced to death for his own dark deeds. Can you imagine sharing a block with a guy who has a Netflix docuseries about his life? While Kohberger adjusts to his new lifestyle of single-cell living—where the most exciting event might be figuring out what to do with his one hour outside—let’s hope he has some good reading material.
It raises an interesting question for the rest of us: How do we cope when faced with the consequences of our actions? Share your thoughts below and let’s discuss!
