Every first Wednesday of the month, the restaurant transforms into a community kitchen, inviting anyone and everyone to indulge in authentic Korean BBQ without spending a dime. It’s a heartwarming scene that’s become a staple for the local community, and it’s all thanks to the generosity of owners Vivian Newton and Pok-Cha Kim, who have been running the joint since 1988. They’re not exactly swimming in cash, but their faith and determination keep this wonderful tradition alive.
The kitchen staff volunteer their time, serving up hearty meals to everyone, including the homeless and university students looking for financial relief. Often, tips and donations are pooled together to help those in need, showing that a little kindness can go a long way, even if it comes from a few coins dropped in a tip jar.
