With their regular season nearing its final week, the No. 24 Coconino Panthers (3-9, 1-4 D-II Grand Canyon) dropped a tight match at home against the No. 11 Deer Valley Skyhawks (9-3, 4-2 D-II Grand Canyon) on Wednesday.
Ultimately coming down to a three-set match at the No. 4 flight, the Panthers duo of sophomore Molly Clifton and freshman Dot Fox battled with the Skyhawks pairing of senior Hanna Delkic and sophomore Ari Craine. After falling in the opening set 21-18, Clifton and Fox forced a third set with a 21-16 win in the second. Nearly extending into additional points, Coconino’s pair ultimately lost 15-13.
