In a twist that feels all too reminiscent of a thriller novel, Longview’s very own Alexander Lee Rogers has been identified as the armed suspect in a fatal stabbing. This didn’t just make headlines; it jolted the community awake. Rogers, 51, is wanted for the murder of Dawn Peters, 64, and for allegedly attacking her husband, Andrew Peters, who is luckily recovering. The local police are urging everyone to keep their eyes peeled for a man described as 6-foot-2, weighing about 190 pounds, and potentially cruising in a rather unintentional eye-catcher—a partly spray-painted black BMW.
Imagine the scene: the sun sets over Longview, and the police are out in full force, hoping to find a guy who sounds more like a character from a bad sitcom than a real-life criminal. But it’s no laughing matter when you realize he’s considered armed and dangerous. The community is on alert, and the police have asked anyone who spots him to call 911. Let’s just hope the only “action” this guy gets is a one-way ticket to jail!
It’s tough to believe that something so dark could lurk so close to home. What do you think drives someone to commit such violent acts? Is it society, circumstances, or something deeper? Either way, Longview is clearly hoping for a peaceful resolution to this scary situation – and perhaps an evening without too much drama!
