Greg Olsen certainly found himself in some hot water during a live broadcast, and it all kicked off with a nickname for Buffalo Bills General Manager Brandon Beane. While Olsen was chatting with Joe Davis during a preseason matchup with the Chicago Bears, he blurted out a word that raised eyebrows across the board due to its unintended meaning. It’s a classic case of “oops,” but on live TV, those reactions can be pretty priceless!
As the Bills trailed 31-0, the guys were trying to lighten the mood, but what should have been a simple nickname quickly became a moment for the books. Olsen didn’t intend for it to be offensive, but viewers couldn’t help but react, making memes and questioning what they just heard. It’s amazing how one little slip can change the dynamic of an entire broadcast!
Interestingly, the fun didn’t stop there. During another preseason game featuring the Indianapolis Colts and the Green Bay Packers, analyst Rick Venturi also used the same term while referring to backup quarterback Jason Bean. It seems there’s a new on-air trend going around—one that might need some serious rethinking!
So, what do you think? Are broadcasters losing touch with word choices, or is it just another case of live TV unpredictability? Share your thoughts—what’s the craziest thing you’ve heard on air?
