In a bold new challenge, Englishman James Ketchell is setting off to become the first person to circumnavigate the globe by land, air, and sea. Departing from a harbor in Hampshire, Ketchell has mapped out a breathtaking 30,000-mile journey that will take a whopping nine months to complete! Isn’t that what all good adventurers wish for—a long and exhausting trip that practically screams, “Can I just get a coffee at the airport?”
This isn’t Ketchell’s first rodeo; he previously completed a gyrocopter circumnavigation in 2019 and pedaled around the globe by bicycle in 2013. After his initial boat attempt ended in disaster last year, he’s back with a fresh mindset and a few extra supplies. Plus, if you can’t find a reason to spend an eternity on the ocean, Ketchell plans to livestream his adventures to classrooms around the world! Talk about taking “show and tell” to the next level.
While he’ll be dodging waves and navigating high skies, one has to wonder: what pushes someone to chase after such audacious goals? Do you have a bucket list adventure that revs your engine? Because if there’s anyone who’ll inspire wanderlust, it’s Ketchell. Let’s hope he doesn’t end up on an episode of “Where On Earth Is That Guy?”
