Kelly Stafford recently took a nostalgic trip down memory lane on her podcast, recalling one of the most cringe-worthy aspects of her middle school experience. Turns out, her mother, Leslie Hall, who taught physical education, thought it was totally appropriate to share intimate details about Kelly’s menstrual cycle during sex ed class. Just imagine the horror of walking into your mom’s classroom, only to be greeted by classmates saying, “Hey, how’s your period?” Yikes!
Despite the embarrassment, Kelly now looks back at those moments with humor. She affectionately reminisces about how her mom explained, “Kelly just developed way earlier than her sister Jenny,” leaving Kelly baffled and still confused about the whole process. But now, with four daughters of her own, she’s determined to avoid that same fate. When the time comes for discussions about periods, she plans to keep it much more private—no classroom reminders necessary!
The episode provided not just laughs but also a glimpse into Kelly’s parenting challenges. As she juggles her daughters’ needs, from money management to learning how to tie soccer cleats, she admits: “It’s a disaster!” It’s refreshing to see a celebrity be so relatable; after all, parenting can be tough no matter who you are, and sometimes a little humor goes a long way. What about you? What embarrassing lessons did you learn from your parents that still stick with you today?
