An hour before practice, Will Carpenter is already on the field, taking swings in the cage and fielding ground balls. The Flagstaff High School senior shortstop and pitcher earned a reputation among teammates and coaches as one of the first to arrive and last to leave.
The early work isn’t for show; it’s part of a daily routine that has earned Carpenter the distinction of being one of the top players in the Grand Canyon Region and the 4A Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
