BASIS Flagstaff boys volleyball head coach Andrew Guthrie made a promise to one of the team’s longest-tenured players before the season started: Recruit as many kids to join the team as possible, and he’ll come aboard as the team’s head coach.
Guthrie lived up to his word after junior Raz Saftiou worked tirelessly over the summer, putting together camps, setting up open gyms and doing everything in between to put a roster together.
