With an Access to Justice Grant previously approved by the Board of Supervisors this past September, Coconino County took the next step toward utilizing the funding to assist those located outside of Flagstaff.
During the board’s April 7 meeting, the five supervisors unanimously approved a license agreement between the county and Coconino County Superior Court to place a remote court pod inside the Tuba City Public Library. The grant, in the amount of $131,800 over a two-year period, was awarded to the county by the Arizona Supreme Court in order to increase the ease of access to the court system for residents living in remote rural communities of Coconino County that are in or near the Navajo Nation.
This diagram shows where the justice pod will be located in the Tuba City Public Library.
