Friends of Flagstaff’s Future supports a YES vote on the Flagstaff Regional Land Use Plan 2045. This plan is not a minor update — it is a decisive shift to address the two most urgent challenges facing our community: housing attainability and climate change. By prioritizing these recognized emergencies, the plan reflects both the realities residents face today and the responsibility we carry for the future.
The plan takes meaningful action by allowing a wider range of housing types — duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes, and townhomes — in every neighborhood. This will expand more affordable housing options for the people who keep Flagstaff running, including teachers, first responders, healthcare workers, and service employees. All residents of Flagstaff deserve to be able to afford a home.
