Coconino head varsity boys basketball coach Cooper Elliott is stepping down from his role with the Panthers, the Arizona Daily Sun has learned. Elliott has spent the past five years on the team’s coaching staff, the first of which as an assistant under Mike Moran, the program’s all-time leader in wins, before taking over as head coach in 2022.
Elliott led the Panthers to a combined regular-season record of 53-23, finishing above .500 each season. Coconino went 18-5 last year, including a perfect 12-0 in the Grand Canyon Region to secure a region title and an appearance in the Open Tournament.
