A Flagstaff resident has started a fundraising effort to be able to purchase the former El Pueblo Motel to be renovated for use in Habitat for Humanity’s starter home program while preserving the historic exteriors.
Flagstaff resident Phil Scandura, architect Karl Eberhard and Habitat for Humanity of Northern Arizona are looking for a way to purchase the $2.75 million property in order to restore the existing buildings and add others for a total of 19 housing units. The project is intended to blend historic preservation with affordable housing.
