Pedestrian crossing improvements on Soliere Ave to begin June 1

The City of Flagstaff and Kinney Construction Services will start work on five improved pedestrian crossings along Soliere Avenue, northeast of Fourth Street, on Monday, June 1.

According to a press release from the city, the improvements are part of the “First Mile, Last Mile Initiative,” which aims to add safe pedestrian infrastructure near Mountain Line bus stops. Most of the crossings will feature a pedestrian refuge median, meaning pedestrians will only need to cross one lane of traffic at a time.
