The Cocodona 250 brought some of the world’s best ultra runners to Arizona, where they endured tough race conditions on a course full of changing terrains and elevations. One runner fought through his ailing body to come away a race winner. While Rachel Entrekin made history by becoming the first woman to win the race outright, decorated runner Kilian Korth battled hot on her heels to win the race in the men’s division.
Korth set the male course record with a time of 57:28:36, coming in just an hour and change behind Entrekin. Korth was battling a right-leg injury he sustained around the 200-mile mark. He felt discomfort in his glute, causing him to change his running gait at the end of the race.
