Northern Arizona men’s basketball continues to fight for players in the age of the transfer portal. The Lumberjacks have found themselves in a vicious cycle of building and rebuilding again. Head coach Shane Burcar, who will enter a season on an expiring contract for a third straight year, has added a handful of transfer players to fill out his roster in what will be a pivotal year.
Burcar has a few names he will need to replace. Oakland Fort, NAU’s all-time leader in games played, finished his career last season. Stretch guard Isaiah Shaw transferred to UConn. Zack Davidson transferred to Hawai’i after his season was cut short due to injury. He and forward Traivar Jackson leave a large void down low following their lone seasons in Flagstaff.
