Growth of the Rock Canyon Fire burning in northern Coconino County slowed in the past day, according to the Type 3 Incident Management Team that is in command of the firefighting effort.
Reported at 4,695 acres and 10% containment as of Friday morning, the Rock Canyon Fire grew less than 200 acres since the previous update the day before. According to the update, the fire’s growth was limited to unburned interior islands of vegetation on Thursday.
