The conversations surrounding Northern Arizona University and its athletic department have been muddling, to say the least, in recent times. Unsubstantiated rumors regarding its status as a Division I program and the future of certain sports at the university swelled in the weeks before Richard Duran was announced as NAU’s newest athletic director.
The school’s third full-time athletic director within the past 18 months, and fourth when counting interim athletic director Tanya Vogel, put those ideas to bed during his introductory press conference at the NAU Student-Athlete High Performance Center.
