After receiving less than 1.5 inches of precipitation over the previous four months, Flagstaff finally enjoyed some form of significant rainfall in July.
Finishing at 3.63 inches of precipitation as measured at the Flagstaff Pulliam Airport, July landed 1.02 inches above normal and pushed the water year (which starts in October) to a total of 17.30 inches and 1.66 inches above normal. Though the total only ranks 20th all-time for the month of July, it was the most rainfall in the month since 2021’s 5.66 inches. A total of 2.69 inches of rain fell from July 16 to 18, including a daily record of 1.43 inches on July 17, to rank as the sixth-highest three-day span in the month’s history.
