Mickey Clements made what seemed like an abrupt decision when he stepped down as Flagstaff High School’s head football coach last week, less than a month before the 2026 football season begins.
Clements informed the school of his intention to step down after three seasons as head coach and seven overall with the football program. Andres Delgadillo has been named the interim head coach. Clements shed some light on his sudden resignation, citing issues outside the football field as reasons he felt he was not in the best position to provide the best experience for the team.
