In a vote by the league’s head coaches, Micala Boex was named the 2026 Big Sky Preseason Most Valuable Player and the Northern Arizona women’s soccer team was picked to finish fourth in the conference preseason poll, which was released on Wednesday.
The Lumberjacks earned 60 points in the poll, three behind Utah Tech’s 63 points as the newly-minted Big Sky foe claimed third and a single first-place vote. Idaho placed second, tallying 70 points with four first-place votes. Weber State, last season’s tournament runner-up, landed first with 74 total points and five first-place votes. The balanced split of first-place votes indicate a wide-open race for the Big Sky’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Montana, the defending tournament champion, landed seventh place in the 10-team poll.
