According to a press release from the Coconino National Forest, firefighters are aware of a wildfire located eight miles northwest of Sedona and 1.5 miles directly north of the Palatki Heritage site.
While no size of the fire was reported by the national forest at 5 p.m., Watch Duty listed the Hart Fire at 0.2 acres as of 3 p.m. The cause of the fire is also not determined yet, but had been producing noticeable smoke in the Sedona area and began after rain and lightning storms moved through the area. No structures or communities are threatened at this time.
