As the Flagstaff Unified School District (FUSD) continues its effort toward increasing teacher attainment and retention, these are the experiences of three teachers from different levels of K-12 who have chosen to stay in Flagstaff.
Angelica Quezada, Owen Davis and Kelly Marquez each have been with FUSD for more than five years. From community connection to strong administrative support, the educators have found the place they want to keep teaching as long as possible and retire in their profession.
Angelica Quezada is a kindergarten teacher at Puente de Hózhó Elementary School.
Owen Davis is a music teacher at Sinagua Middle School.
Kelly Marquez is the yearbook and photography teacher at Coconino High School.
