Machine Gun Kelly, aka MGK, recently took a stand in the cutthroat world of Hollywood, and it’s a story worth the clicks. During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” he revealed he turned down an audition for the film “Sinners” because it required him to say a racial slur. Yes, you heard that right. Sometimes you have to choose principles over parts, and MGK certainly isn’t shy about doing just that.
Not only did MGK showcase his strong morals by stepping away from this role, but the response on “The Pat McAfee Show” was applause-worthy. It seems that in an industry where some may compromise values for fame, MGK’s choice to skip the audition is earning him some serious respect. This led to the rapper-turned-actor thinking louder than words, calling on producers to consider him for future projects instead.
As he gears up for the release of his new album, “Lost Americana,” there’s a humorous thought—could it instead be titled “Lost Acting Opportunities”? It’s a cheeky nod to the difficult decision he made, but perhaps also a glimpse into his ambitious side. What do you think? Should artists always put their values first, even if it means losing out on big roles? It’s a question worth debating!
