The Bellevue Police Department has thrown down the gauntlet, asking the public to keep an eye out for 28-year-old Samuel Hitchcock, a suspect in a recent homicide. For those not in the know, Samuel isn’t just a face on a flyer—he’s been deemed homeless and may not even be in the Bellevue area anymore. The police are taking public safety seriously, reminding residents to steer clear and to call 911 immediately if they see him. You know it’s serious when the caution tape goes up, and the “Detective Work 101” signs come out!
This whole situation reads like a true-crime novel, doesn’t it? On July 30, officers received a call about a suspicious death at SE Eastgate Way, and it turned out to be a 54-year-old man who was tragically found deceased. Nothing like a morning stroll being interrupted by an ominous scene. The investigation swiftly connected the dots to Hitchcock, making it clear that this is more than just your average Tuesday.
As a community, it’s times like these that test our nerves and vigilance. How often do you actually notice the faces around you? Are we all just passing ships in the night, oblivious to the potential dangers lurking where we least expect it? Maybe it’s time to pay a bit more attention to what’s happening in our neighborhoods—because every small detail could be part of a bigger picture. What do you think—should the police rely more on communities for information, or is that asking for too much? Let’s chat!
