In an unsettling turn of events, authorities in Pierce County are searching for 16-year-old Yarelsy Castellano Chacon, who hasn’t been seen since she took out the garbage on Tuesday evening. It’s a parent’s worst nightmare, and what makes it more alarming is that Yarelsy is reportedly struggling with depression and doesn’t have access to a cell phone. It really puts a twist on the whole “taking out the trash” thing, doesn’t it?
The last sighting was near the 8400 block of McKinley Avenue East around 6:30 p.m. She’s described as Hispanic, standing 5 feet 2 inches tall, and weighing 112 pounds. This disappearance has left a lot of unanswered questions hanging in the air. Will someone step forward to provide clues, or are we left in the dark just like that one time you forgot to pay the electric bill?
It’s a troubling situation for her friends and family, and it’s a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities many teens face today. Hopefully, someone has seen her and can help bring her home.
