The Just Transition Fund (JTF), a philanthropic organization supporting communities affected by the closure of coal mines and coal-fired power plants, announced earlier this month that applications are open for a total of $10 million in grant funding for governments or nonprofits in five Arizona counties, including Coconino County.
“Our goal at the end of the day is to help these economies diversify,” JTF co-founded and chief executive officer Heidi Binko told the Arizona Daily Sun.
