The Flagstaff Girls Softball Little League All-Star 10s got off on the wrong foot to open the Arizona State Softball Tournament on Monday in Avondale. The District 1 champions lost in the first round of the double-elimination tournament in extra-inning, walk-off fashion at the hands of District 7 champion Four Peaks Little League (Mesa) at Festival Fields Park.
Flagstaff took a 6-5 lead in the top half of the seventh to start extra innings, but was unable to hold on. Four Peaks only needed one base hit in the bottom of the seventh to take the win. With a runner starting at second base, Four Peaks led off with a single to bring the tying run to third. A passed ball brought both Four Peaks runners in to finish the game.
