Flagstaff’s Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC) held a public hearing on June 17. The particular agenda item was to consider a Certificate of Economic Hardship that would have resulted in the demolition of Flagstaff’s old city hall located at the corner of Beaver Street and Birch Avenue. This location is in the heart of historic downtown Flagstaff.
On principle, I don’t believe we should be demolishing our very limited historic buildings. The application was denied and I applaud the HPC.
