Letter to the Editor: Preserve Flagstaff’s sense of place

Flagstaff is a community shaped by its history, landscapes, and the buildings that tell our story. People visit Flagstaff because it is different. They come to experience our historic downtown, our connection to Route 66, our mountain views, and the unique character that has been carefully built over generations. These qualities are not only part of our identity; they are also a vital part of our economy.

Yet each time a historic building is demolished, we lose a piece of what makes Flagstaff feel like home. Historic buildings connect us to our past and provide a sense of continuity, belonging, and pride. Once they are gone, they cannot be replaced.
