Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) is in the process of exploring ways to meet Flagstaff Medical Center’s capacity needs following the announcement that its plan for a new hospital campus is on pause.
The health care system, which includes Flagstaff Medical Center (FMC) and Verde Valley Medical Center (VVMC) among its locations, announced in February that its board of directors had decided to pause plans for a new hospital rather than decide on a site to use. That announcement cited financial uncertainty caused by Medicaid cuts in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act as well as the rising costs to provide health care.
