In a shocking incident that put a permanent halt to a man’s evening drive, SR 167 in Auburn became the latest scene of a tragic drive-by shooting. Washington State Patrol troopers arrived to find the victim slumped in his car, a clear indication that this was no ordinary evening commute. Witnesses reported spotting not one, but two suspect vehicles—a maroon Ford Explorer from the ’90s and a 2018 silver Subaru BRZ—leaving the scene. Just imagine being caught in the middle of road rage that escalated like it was out of an action flick.
As if sitting in traffic isn’t daunting enough, authorities had to close the northbound lanes for an investigation, leading to a temporary freeway standstill. Thankfully, those lanes have since reopened, but the whole situation has left the community buzzing with concern. The WSP is on the lookout for any tips, so if you know something, don’t be shy! Seriously, folks, this spectacle is better suited for a movie script than reality.
What drives someone to commit such an insane act on the freeway? And what would you do if you found yourself in the crossfire? Let’s hope the culprits are caught soon and that road safety doesn’t have to take another hit in the meantime.
