July 3rd has packed quite the punch in history, and it’s no wonder why it’s a day that deserves some spotlight! Back in 1988, the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge officially opened, connecting the continents of Asia and Europe in a true engineering marvel. Imagine being able to strut across a stretch of steel that’ll hold up during even the wiliest of earthquakes! Not to forget, this bridge is named after Mehmed the Conqueror, who certainly didn’t shy away from conquering challenges, be it a city or a hefty construction project.
But that’s not all this date has in store. We also celebrate the very first get-together of musical legends—David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash—who discovered the magic of their harmonies in 1966. If you’ve ever sung in the shower and thought you sounded like a rock star, just know these legendary singers started somewhere too! And let’s not overlook the birthday boy: Tom Cruise is turning 63 today, still flying high after *Top Gun: Maverick*. Seriously, does the guy have a fountain of youth hiding in his Hollywood mansion?
So, as the world reflects on bridges and birthdays, it begs the question: what moments in history do you think deserve a celebration more than the others? Let us know your thoughts and relive some of the joys across time!
