NWS issues Red Flag Warning for Wednesday as wind gusts may hit 40 mph

A Red Flag Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Bellemont for Wednesday afternoon and evening

Sent out Tuesday afternoon, the warning covers much of northern Arizona including the Mogollon Rim, Kaibito Plateau, Painted Desert, the Little Colorado River Valley in Coconino and Navajo counties, and the Black Mesa area. Portions of the Coconino, Kaibab and Apache-Sitgreaves national forests are included in the warning area.
