LOCAL ROUNDUP: Flagstaff earns four track and field golds as local high schools finish with 16 top-three finishes at state

Carrying over its dominance of the fall’s cross country state championships, the Flagstaff Eagles brought home four gold medals from the Division III track and field championships hosted at Shadow Mountain High School in Phoenix.

With nine top-three finishes in total between its boys and girls squads, the Eagles earned a pair of top-10 team finishes. The boys placed third with 66.5 points, just 7.5 points behind state champion ALA – Queen Creek, and the girls finished sixth with 36.5 points. Also at Shadow Mountain, Coconino’s girls tied for 12th with 23 points and its boys team finished 22nd with 8.5 points.
