In an effort to keep Flagstaff informed about immigration-related news, Keep Flagstaff Together would like to bring to attention items learned from the meeting on May 15 between Coconino County Sheriff Bret Axlund, the Flagstaff Police Department and ICE.
From this meeting, we learned that the Flagstaff ICE office will be opening late summer or early fall of 2026 and will be used as a base of operations for the northern region, but will not be a detention facility. ICE will also not be booking their prisoners into the Coconino County Sheriff’s Detention Facility, and they will be looking for a targeted list of individuals for deportation.
