One of the things that I love most about running is that it has taken me places I never expected to visit. The best part isn’t just the destinations — it’s the people I meet, the food I get to try and the treasured memories created along the way. Some of my favorite moments happen outside of the race itself: finding a cozy coffee shop, trying a local dish, or wandering around and taking in the beauty of somewhere new.
One of my favorite experiences was traveling to Germany for the Adidas Road to Records event. The race takes place in Herzogenaurach, a small town in Bavaria, Germany. It is where the Adidas headquarters is located (as well as Puma). For one weekend, this charming village brings together only Adidas runners, who are some of the best athletes in the world. Being part of the same sponsor makes it feel like we were all part of something bigger. I appreciated getting to experience the local way of life, especially enjoying traditional German beer and authentic pretzels, which are a must to try in Deutschland!
