When Jessa Duggar welcomed her sixth baby with husband Ben Seewald, they decided to keep it in the family—literally! In a heartwarming moment shared on her YouTube channel, Jessa revealed that her 16-year-old sister, Jordyn-Grace, got to cut the umbilical cord. Talk about a unique sibling bonding experience! As Jessa recalled, Jordyn was thrilled: “Wow, this is awesome! This is so cool!”
But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. Before that joyful moment, Jessa faced a rather terrifying health scare when she couldn’t feel the baby moving due to a blood clot. The couple rushed to the hospital, where she described those fifteen minutes of uncertainty as “the longest of my life.” Thankfully, the medical team quickly found a heartbeat, which was definitely a relief in a time full of emotion!
Jessa also shared her admiration for her mom, Michelle Duggar, who raised 19 kids and remains her role model. While some might speculate about Jessa following in her mother’s footsteps, she’s clear she won’t be matching that remarkable number. Come on, who could stand that chaos of 19 kids? So, what’s your take? Would you trust a family member to cut the cord during such a personal moment? Let’s hear your stories!
